giving MAKES OUR MISSION SING

Check out this editorial from WISN TV12’s President and General Manager Jan Wade on the Florentine Opera’s successes during the pandemic

Please become a partner in our Return to the Stage and dream with us as we build the operas Milwaukee loves.

We are so full of joy and thanks for everything our community is doing to make our return to the Stage safe and fulfilling. Your gift helps us invest in excellence. Every dollar you give increases our ability to delight you and reach budding young fans in Milwaukee schools. Milwaukee wants grand opera, and we want to build it with and for you. So, we’re investing in what makes excellent opera grand—large casts, inspiring sets, rich and glorious choruses, an incredible orchestra, and genuine community involvement.

Don’t worry— there’s so much more of this spirit and artistic excellence in the season ahead! Romeo et Juliette is just around the corner.

We’ve come through the worst together, now let’s build the best.

Ways to Give

Individual donors form our biggest source of philanthropic support by making an unrestricted annual gift—for use where their support is most needed. But you may also designate your gift in honor or memory of a loved one, or in support of a meaningful production or favorite program.

It’s quick and easy to make an online gift.

Please consider these additional ways to make your giving go even further.

For personal assistance, or to make the most of any of these strategies, contact Director of Development Gail Valenti (She/Her/Hers), at 414-291-5700 x225 or gvalenti@florentineopera.org.

Automatic Recurring Gifts

Setting up a monthly or quarterly recurring gift by credit card simplifies record-keeping and may help you make a bigger impact by spreading out payments. Call today to establish a recurring gift in any amount.

Matching Gifts

Many companies match the gifts of their employees, retirees, and directors.

Check to see if your company has a matching gift program here (opens in a new window).

Gifts of Stock

Donating shares of publicly traded securities is easy, and it’s a great way to receive a tax deduction for the appreciated value of your shares while avoiding capital gains taxes. But, there are a few things you should talk to your advisor about.

It’s important that a gift of stock be transferred directly to a charity, rather than selling the stock and donating the proceeds. We will provide more detailed transfer instructions to your broker/advisor upon request.

Direct from IRA

An increasingly popular option allows individuals who are at least 70½ to donate up to $100,000 annually to charitable organizations, directly from their IRA, without treating the distribution as taxable income.

To qualify, the gift must come directly from your IRA administrator.

Simply ask your plan administrator to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution to the Florentine Opera Company, and they will send a check to us on your behalf. If your administrator needs our tax-exempt information, the Florentine Opera is a 501c3 Charitable Organization, and our EIN is 39-1098132.

It’s always a good idea to consult your advisor, but we’re happy to answer any questions. Contact the Florentine Development Team at 414-291-5700 x225 or donate@florentineopera.org.

Gifts by check or mail, are always appreciated!
